Message I had a similar experience. The insurance company asked me to document my claim since I wanted more than they offered. 60 pages of service records, receipts, and a written explanation to their fax machine and they were willing to pay me.

Often times the adjuster isn't trying to screw you, they just need something to justify the difference in what the computer says to pay and what you should be payed.

:Okay so i'm not going to in great detail about what happen. You can find out what's going down with my 90TT with pictures and details about the wreck. [ http://bawt.net ] . Basically a kid hit me, then i hit a tree. His insurance company is trying to give me 7,800$ for the car... when i've got 15,000$ all together... (i paid 12k for it) I've only had my Z for almost 3 before this happened. Since it's not my fault i don't see how it's possible that I should be out half my money. Now if i was being a stupid kid or irresponsible and I just hit the tree because i couldn't handle the car... then yes i deserve to be taken by an insurance claim. I've got all the receipts etc.
:Brief history and why i paid 12k for the car. 52k original miles, 1 owner, Garaged most of it's life, no dents, no paint fade, no rust, rubber trim not worn, interior was brand new... , and the gentleman had all the receipts from service at the nissan dealership since 1991.
:The kid was at fault, he admitted to the police he caused the wreck. Told his insurance company the same thing, etc. Well now i'm high and dry, they said I have to pay for rental and the storage on my car.
:I'm sure i need a lawyer which i've been looking for, i'm just curious if anyone else has had the same issue, and how can I take care of this 'business'
